Loughborough Traditions: celebrating The NationalA series of concerts, events, sessions and singarounds in the spirit of The National Folk Festival! The National was a much-loved event that took place down the road in Sutton Bonnington, and at one time was even situated here in Loughborough - making it the FIRST Loughborough Folk Festival. We hope you'll agree that the special events included in this year's festival pay tribute to The National - and celebrate the best of English tradition. Singarounds and SessionsThe Old Pack Horse Pub will be the place to go for song sessions with a bit of music, while The Swan in the Rushes Pub will be your choice if you prefer music sessions with the odd bit of song! There will be led sessions in both on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A Welcome Singaround will take place on Friday night at the Old Pack Horse, in partnership with the Pack Horse Folk Club. This is a free event and all are welcome. The Balcony Cafe upstairs at the Town Hall will be the place for impromptu, informal sessioning on site. With a real ale bar next door, it will be the perfect spot to unwind and play, sing or just listen. The Council Chamber in the Town Hall is the place for Loughborough Traditions evening concerts, plus post-concert singarounds.
